He came to Seattle in 2003, after playing as Assistant Principal cello in both the Honolulu and Dallas Symphony Orchestras. He originally is from the Chicago suburb of Downers Grove, there studying with Chicago Symphony members and getting orchestra training in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Houston, studying with Hans Jensen, and a Masters degree from Juilliard, with Harvey Shapiro. Chuck also has been a longtime cello coach for the Seattle Youth Symphony orchestras and is always looking for music to arrange that will enlarge the cello ensemble repertoire.
